Hispanic Latino Club to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo. The Argonne Hispanic Latino Club will hold a special monthly meeting to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Noon on Monday, May 5, in Building 212, Room A157.

A taco lunch will be served for $5. The tacos will be filled with Chorizo (Mexican sausage), eggs and frijoles. Rice will be served on the side. Desserts and drinks will also be included.

Argentina Leyva will present a talk on the History of Cinco de Mayo.

Tamale Sale Fundraiser. The Argonne Hispanic Latino Club held yet another very popular Tamale Sale Fundraiser. 237 dozens of tamales were picked up by our regular customers. Proceeds of this fundraiser will be put towards a charitable organization, and also sponsor Club events. The Club wishes to THANK all who purchased tamales; we hope you enjoyed them as much as we did!
2008 Membership Drive. The Argonne Hispanic-Latino Club held a 2008 Membership Drive on April 1 and 2, 2008. Interested Argonne, DOE, and University of Chicago employees signed up to become part of one of Argonne's most popular Clubs.

Hispanic Latino Club Donates to Free Wheelchair Mission. This Hispanic Latino Club made a $400 donation to the Free Wheelchair Mission. The Club received a thank you letter from the President and Founder, Don Schoendorfer. The Club would like to mention that this donation was made from the profits of the HLC Tamale Sales. Thanks to the Argonne Community, your participation in our fundraisers has enabled us to make changes in people's lives.
Latin-American Country Presentations. Every month at the HLC meetings, a Club member will be presenting a slide show of their favorite Latin-American country. To date, Frank Gines has presented Puerto Rico; Giselle Sandi-Tapia has presented the country of Costa Rica; Manoel Conde has presented the country of Brasil; and Leopoldo Suescun has presented the country of Uruguay..
