May Activities

Cinco-de-Mayo Tamale Sale, May 3, 2007. The Argonne HLC sponsored their first Tamale Sale of the year. Tamales were sold by the dozen and half-dozens. This year, the Club offered two kinds of tamales--chicken and pork. Tamales were delivered to the Lobby of Building 201 where hungry customers patiently waited in line for their order. Drinks and baked goodies were also available for purchase. The Club sold 260 dozen tamales -- that's 3,120 tamales!! The Club wishes to THANK the Argonne and DOE community for their support!!

Cinco-de-Mayo Social, May 3, 2007. The Argonne Hispanic-Latino Club held a Cinco-de-Mayo social at the Exchange Club. Horizontes Mexicanos, a children's dance company, which consists of six seniors from different high schools from the City of Chicago, performed folkloric dances from Mexico for the attendees. A Mary Kay basket was raffled off -- the winner was Jackie York from DOE-Argonne Site Office. Congratulations Jackie!
