Forty students and their teachers visited Argonne to perform hands-on activities in various laboratories at Argonne. The visitors also went on Laboratory tours. After the tours, students prepared PowerPoint presentations using information they gathered from their experiences at Argonne.

September 20, 2007 -- Luna Negra Dance Theater

Luna Negra Dance Theater performed in the Bldg. 402 Auditorium. Luna Negra Dance Theater creates, performs and teaches contemporary dance by Latino choreographers. The company's distinctive style artfully blends ballet and contemporary dance movements strongly flavored by Latin and Afro-Caribbean dance forms.

Argonne Hispanic-Latino Club's own Dr. Monica Regalbuto, Dept. Head of the Process Chemistry and Engineering Department, has been awarded the Professional Achievement Award by the HENAAC Organization!

HENAAC was established in 1989 as a means of identifying, honoring, and documenting the contributions of outstanding Hispanic American science, engineering, technology, and math professionals. Corporations, government agencies, academic institutions, the military, and the business community-at-large have submitted thousands of nominees over the last 17 years for this very prestigious recognition.

In addition, Argonne's Dr. Juan Carlos Campuzano was awarded the Outstanding Technical Achievement honors.

The winners will be honored at the HENAAC Awards Show on October 12, 2007 at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center in San Diego, CA. CONGRATULATIONS TO MONICA AND CARLOS!!
