Hispanic Latino Club and Argonne Diversity Office to host social gathering Thursday, July 17, in Building 212, Room A157, starting at noon.

Giselle Sandí, HLC president, will deliver an informative talk about Costa Rica , emphasizing the natural beauty of the country.

Argentinean empanadas (filled with beef, chicken, or vegetables), desserts, and drinks will be served for $7 a person. Payment will be collected at the start of the event. An activity called the “Global Experience” is also planned, where attendees can identify the places they call home. Everyone is welcome. ANL and DOE Employees recognized as Latino role models

Several ANL and DOE employees were recently recognized as role models among the Latino community.

Orlando Auciello, Frank Gines, Michael Kaminski, and Giselle Sandi-Tapia were recently recognized as Latino role models by “Get Energized”, a project sponsored by the US Department of Energy. Latin-American Country Presentations. Every month at the HLC meetings, a Club member will be presenting a slide show of their favorite Latin-American country. To date, Frank Gines has presented Puerto Rico; Giselle Sandi-Tapia has presented the country of Costa Rica; Manoel Conde has presented the country of Brasil; and Leopoldo Suescun has presented the country of Uruguay..
